Retired Police Traffic Sergeant Acquitted Of Speeding In Scotland By Michael Lyon – The Road Traffic Lawyer

Our client was charged with allegedly driving without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other road users by driving at speeds of approximately 90mph in a 50mph speed limit in road conditions of heavy frost.

Remarkably the case had for a second time been raised in the wrong jurisdiction. We were only a few weeks away from the time bar and continued the case for a period to allow for the six month period to elapse. Thereafter we tendered a further plea to the competency of the charge on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction. The plea was upheld and the case was deserted with the Crown unable to reraise proceedings.

Extended Auto Warranty: A Welcome Add-on When Purchasing A New Car

An extended auto warranty can be defined as a contract that a dealership or warranty company offers to cover repairs under said contract. There are two types of extended auto warranties: bumpertobumper and powertrain.

When you walk into a dealership and decide on a specific car regardless of whether you lease or buy it the terms are agreed upon. The next step is that you are asked to step into the financial office wherein a discussion ensues regarding insurance and extended warranties.
